| CPM contacted a wide range of loudspeaker manufacturers (some you have heard of, others you may have not), and asked them to send us information on one of their products that they consider to be right for churches. The resulting compilation, spread across the next few pages, is not intended as an absolute, all-inclusive listing (were sure we forgot a few). But it is intended to make our readers aware of the sheer size and scope of possibilities that they may choose from. Of course, your situation (room size/shape, worship/music style etc) should determine the right loudspeaker for you. |

The
Adamson SX 18 contains a switchable, three-way active, two-way passive
crossover. This arrayable loudspeaker is designed to be used as the main
enclosure for small to mid-sized venues or as a supplemental cabinet for
large-scale sound reinforcement. Adamsons proprietary internal crossover
and Kevlar drivers are employed throughout the SX 18 enclosure and its
integral fly points are designed for fast effective installation.
Allen
Audio Ensemble Loudspeakers include specially designed dual coaxial arrays
developed to create an obliquely angled plane of intensity. The goal is
consistent dispersion of high and mid frequencies, consistent volume and
reduced sound quality variance from row to row in the seating area. This
two-way loudspeaker features two
The
Bag End Crystal is a full-range, long-throw loudspeaker system designed
for applications where high sound pressure and highly directive capability
are required. Units are designed to array in larger systems using ATM
Flyware. The Crystal-I features Bag Ends proprietary Time-Align
technology which is designed to present the listener with the same fundamental
and overtones of a complex, transient, acoustical signal as those in the
electrical signal at the input terminals of the loudspeaker.
The
CPL46 is a versatile, three-way full-range bass reflex loudspeaker system
engineered for installation in theaters, houses of worship and corporate
applications. CPL systems may be ordered to match your specific applications.
The 60 x 40 high-frequency horn is rotatable for narrower horizontal coverage
or for vertical mounting. The one-inch titanium high frequency compression
driver includes a three-position level switch. The system is protected
with Communitys PowerSense DDP (Dynamic Driver Protection).
The
LH3 from Crest Audio feature a mid-range contour switch (with High and
Normal settings), part of its internal crossover circuitry, allowing the
user to choose between flat or slightly-attenuated mid-range frequencies
for wide variety of sound reinforcement situations. The three-way LH3
loudspeaker has a 15-inch woofer, an eight-inch mid-range driver, and
two-inch titanium compression driver, with frequency response of 53 Hz
20 kHz and crossover frequencies of 500 Hz low-mid/3,700 Hz mid-high.

circuit for mid and high frequency driver provides extra protection against
damage from long-term overpowering.
The
D.A.S. ST-15 two-way, full-range systemis equipped with an internal passive
crossover which can be switched to bi-amplified use via a rear-located
mode selector. Both frequency sections are easily accessed through NL4
Neutrik Speakon connectors. Low-frequency reproduction is handled by a
15-in. B-30 cone transducer with a four-in. edgewound coil, massive magnetic
structure and carefully designed cooling schemes that result in high power
handling and low power compression. An ND-10 driver, which handles the
mid/high frequency content, utilizes a neodymium magnet structure.
Engineered
for use in permanent installations, the Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) AS690e

sound pressure level of 114 dB. Utilizing its integral microphone stand
mount, and positioned in close proximity to the performer, it is a loud
direct sound source, that can be less likely to cause feedback than a
conventional floor monitor. Its 146-watt amplifier (at 4 ohms), powers
its own internal speaker and two external Galaxy Audio HOT SPOT Personal
Monitors.
JBLs
EVOi.324 features a three-way design, providing a constant 80° horizonal
x 80° vertical coverage pattern. Lows and low mids are produced by
two 14-inch NDD carbon fiber cone drivers, with highs coming from a 2430
neodymium large-format compression driver. Synchronized on-board Digital
Signal Processing (DSP) controls the speaker system parameters, crossovers,
parametric EQs, limiting and Filtered Array Technology (FAT) tapering
functions. It also generates its own test sequence and setting its own
auto-EQ and delay parameters. With Anti Feedback Control, it discriminates
between feedback and program music.
