The Power of the Face-to-Face
One of the reasons the digital world is so powerful is that it can virtually replicate the experience of face-to-face dialogue. However, this week, at WFX--we are enjoying the real thing.

Most of us have connections nationwide--and in many cases worldwide. Whether it is friends who have moved, a business associate who works in a different geographic office--or perhaps even someone you've never met before like a blogger you really connect with--(smile)--the digital world facilitates connection.
This week, I am in Long Beach, CA for WFX--the Expo hosted by Church Production and Worship Facilities Magazines.
Yesterday, the sessions were thought-provoking and idea inspiring, but my favorite part were the conversations that occurred in the margins. There is something powerful about drawing together groups of people serving ministries in different contexts. I spoke with some of the most creative designers of sacred space, amazing pastors, worship leaders and tech teams along with the people who create the conference and make it go. The energy of that--in random groups of two to five--is powerful.
I have a whole sheet of ideas and possibilities. And it is only Day One of the conference.
So, while the digital world makes it possible to do this when there is distance between people, when those people finally get to connect in real time and space the results are amazing.
