Digital Signage Experts Group to Offer Digital Signage Certified Expert Program

Panasonic’s AVCHD Format Supported by Adobe Creative Suite Software Applications

Panasonic Broadcast announces new production software applications from Adobe Systems Incorporated will offer native support of the company’s AVCCAM camcorder line-up. The latest version of Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium (CS4), a complete pre- and post-production solution for creative professionals, will support all Panasonic AVCHD format products, with no transcoding or rewrapping required.

AVCHD, the industry’s new H.264/AVC High Profile compression format, provides a near doubling of bandwidth efficiency with improved video performance over the older MPEG-2 compression used in HDV formats. Shure Proposes Plan to Protect Wireless Microphones

Shure, a leading microphone and audio electronics company in business for 80 years, has submitted an alternative proposal to protect wireless microphone channels in the current debate over “white spaces” with the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC recently sought comments on proposed rules calling for evacuation of partially auctioned, yet still populated 698‐806 MHz (the 700 MHz band) spectrum by wireless microphones as of the February, 2009, DTV transition date. The FCC also asked for comment on a recent complaint that the majority of wireless microphones in the US are not licensed under rules written in 1977 that extend eligibility only to broadcasters and motion picture producers, and therefore not worthy of interference…
