ToshibaTLP770 Mediastar Projector
The new Toshiba TLP770 MediaStar projector produces 1,800 lumens (ANSI) and full XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. It includes a wireless mouse control with an easy-to-use trigger for executing commands, and a built-in laser pointer which eliminates juggling several devices at once. All Toshiba’s MediaStar projectors include an easy-to-use zoom focus lens system, Toshiba’s 2000-hour UHP lamp, triple 1.3 LCD polysilicon TFT panels for high image clarity and ceiling, tabletop and rear projection capabilities.

Panasonic’s new PT-D9600U large-venue DLP-based projector offers SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution, brightness of more than 12,000 ANSI lumens, a greater than 550:1 contrast ratio. Fully HDTV compatible, the unit has the capability to provide full resolution for all DTV and HDTV formats in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. Using available optional lens, the PT-D9600U can project an image from 100" to 600" in 4:3 and from 100" to 550" in 16:9.

JVCDY-70 Camcorder
JVC Professional introduces the DY-70, a new affordable, lightweight and high-performance D-9 camcorder that combines JVC's 14-bit DSP camera technology with an all-digital 4:2:2 camcorder. JVC is heralding the introduction as the lowest price ever for 50Mbps acquisition. The DY-70 utilizes three newly-developed 380,000 pixel 1/2-inch IT CCD's with microlens technology to achieve excellent sensitivity and resolution. The company says the new DY-70 achieves sensitivity of F11 at 2000 lux.

SanyoPLC-EF10NZ LCD Projector
The new PLC-EF10NZ from Sanyo produces 3,300 ANSI lumens with SXGA resolution. Sanyo’s new ASIC Progressive Scan circuit incorporates a special algorithm doubling the vertical resolution of the picture which the company says results in near-high-definition image quality from a standard signal. Also features a digital PC interface with a graphics accelerator board that installs into a computer. Advantages include elimination of noise, ghosting and complicated set-up adjustments. Seven optional lenses are available.

PioneerRM-2550S2 Video Wall
Pioneer’s New Media division has introduced the RM-2550S2 an ultra-thin video wall cube with a mullion (border or seam) width of less than one millimeter. The result is a virtually seamless image when using several cubes together. The new 50-inch cube measures just 29.5 inches deep.

PeaveyX-Frame 88 Digital Processor
The Peavey’s Architectural Acoustics division announces the new Mediamatrix X-Frame 88, a digital, parallel processing system with eight analog inputs and outputs and 24-bit converters A/D and D/A. The X-Frame 88 comes with a graphical user interface (GUI) software package that can be loaded onto a laptop to design, compile and set up a sound system. The laptop can then be unplugged from the X-Frame 88, leaving a fully functional sound system.
