Matrox Video today announced the immediate availability of support for Telestream Wirecast 5.0 for Windows software on the Matrox VS4 quad HD capture card. Accoding to a company announcement from Matrox, Wirecast 5.0 adds enhanced encoding and playback options; a new, more efficient user interface; high-quality screen capture; and more flexible input/output integrations for easier, high-quality live streaming.

"Telestream and Matrox share a rich history of providing all-in-one, affordable turnkey solutions for live streaming,” says Filippa Hasselstrom, director of desktop product marketing at Telestream. “The release of Telestream Wirecast 5.0 — with its new user interface, faster x264 encoding, and higher quality desktop capture — combined with ISO recording and the reliability of Matrox VS4, gives the Telestream/Matrox turnkey solutions unprecedented flexibility and power."

““Wirecast 5.0 is a major upgrade to the Telestream software and a perfect companion to the Matrox VS4 capture card,” adds Wayne Andrews, product manager at Matrox. “The combined solution is ideal for cost-effectively streaming and recording live internet shows, broadcasting breaking news and sports, streaming live concerts and games, transmitting church services, corporate meetings, lectures and more.”

Matrox streaming production solutions for Wirecast will be demonstrated at upcoming tradeshows including Rocky Mountain AVX (Denver, Oct. 29-30, booth 508), CCW (New York City, Nov.13-14, booth 1261), Inter BEE (Tokyo, Nov. 13-15, booth 5511), and Streaming Media West (Huntington Beach, Nov. 19-20, booth 216).
