And according to Capture Content Creation Summit presenters, of the two, Facebook may deliver the broadest reach, the best ROI, and the easiest way for people to take a next step and tune in to your live stream. So what are the key elements of an effective social media promo—one that will reach and speak to those outside your regular attendee base?
Capture presenter Alex Schwindt says start with a strong message by considering these three things:
1. What’s the viewer missing—right now?
2. What do they want—right now?
2. What kind of approach would succeed in getting them to tune in?
Once you’ve answered these questions, here are more tips from Schwindt to ensure that your social media ad hits the mark and snags new viewers.First off: remember to keep it to :59 or less—:15 or :30 is even better
- Start with the mindset of a non-attendee, even a probable non-believer
- Consider experimenting with a few shorter campaigns if you’re not sure who your target is
- Don’t try to communicate too much information—keep it pithy
- Be open to energy and life—even humor
- Everyone is going for “serious” right now, so “swim against the stream and offer hope”Refine, condense, rewrite
- Solicit feedback before committing to production
- Lean hard into the targeting tools provided by social media
