When materials feel real, designs become lively experiences in the mind. Vivid materials can tell a more vivid story about design, and in Lumion 10.3, designers can now make materials feel real with a new displacement map import feature, the company reports.
Lumion 10.3 is a free update for Lumion 10 users.
When users import their own displacement maps, they can give any material a natural and realistic appearance, showing designers and clients alike how those materials across a project will feel.
Lumion 10.3 LiveSync for AutoCAD
Lumion 10.3 also expands the reach of its real-time rendering feature with the new LiveSync for AutoCAD, a free plugin that lets users model and render simultaneously. In addition to AutoCAD, LiveSync plugins cover Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, Rhino, and Vectorworks.
Lumion 10.3 also comes with a significant improvement to the "High-Quality Preview" feature by incorporating hyperlight lighting into the preview. In addition, 10.3 offers a video tutorial to help designers get set up.
