Church Design Post COVID-19 Presentation/Discussion, Wed., May 20, 2020, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (CDT)
The presentation will explore ideas on the upcoming re-entry process for churches and how designers plan/design for a "new normal" in church facilities going forward.
Information will include diagrams showing examples of circulation changes, reconfiguring of furniture and worship seating, and more. The discussion will also touch on MEP systems and how they impact indoor air quality.

BIOS
Jacquelyn Block:
Jacquelyn has 15 years of experience with educational and faith-based clients. With a passion for religious and educational facilities, Jacquelyn works closely with her clients in the initial programming and planning phase to identify key strategies to create facilities that support her client’s goals in an innovative and creative way. Her projects have won several design awards including Worship Facilities Solomon Award, Texas Construction Magazine’s Best Architectural Design and Outstanding Project from Learning by Design. She has managed several projects earning LEED certification and worked on an elementary school designed to meet the criteria for the Collaborative for High Performance Schools program (CHPS), a national movement to improve student performance by building better schools. As a Project Architect, she is integrally involved in the project from the initial phase of planning and capital campaign efforts, through design and construction.
Stephen Pickard:
Stephen is a Principal at GFF and has over 35 years of architectural design and management experience. The last 20 years of his career have concentrated on the development of a national practice specializing in the design of church and faith-based facilities. Stephen is very familiar with current trends and the most progressive thinking as it relates to Worship spaces, Children’s Education spaces and meaningful venues for Community Connection. These projects incorporate both cultural and religious aspects into church campuses that strive to serve not only their members but also the larger community. Stephen is currently working with several churches around the country and in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He also serves as Chairman of the Design Committee for Interfaith Design, the Interfaith Forum on Religious Art and Architecture and on the Dean’s Circle for the Texas Tech University College of Architecture Design Leadership Alliance.
Chad Leveritt:
A licensed professional engineer whose responsibilities include strategic project development through marketing, consultation, collaboration and project management. Chad Leveritt, PE successfully leads Summit's team in providing first-class service and finding the right solutions for their clients by collaboration, abstract thinking and problem solving strategies, and a deep knowledge of engineering principles. He has worked on a multitude of market sectors including Healthcare, Industrial, Religious, Refrigerated Warehouses, Municipal, K-12, Higher Education and High Rise. Chad is experienced in HVAC and plumbing design, central plant design, compressed air design, steam design, refrigeration design, energy studies and construction administration.
