During the COVID-19 outbreak, Obsidian Control Systems is announcing free educational resources. Obsidian will offer free weekly training sessions covering the Onyx control platform and new Netron data distribution range. These classes will be hosted online and are available globally for anyone interested in learning more about Obsidian’s advanced yet intuitive lighting control products.
Starting the week of March 23rd, the following classes will be offered weekly at no cost:
Tuesdays: Introduction to Netron – 2 hours (first class March 24)
Learn about the product options in the Netron data distribution range, display navigation and get a full training on all features available in the remote web interface.
Wednesdays: Onyx 101 – 3 hours (first class March 25)
Learn the basics of the Onyx platform from patching to fixture control to writing basic cues and effects.
Thursdays: Onyx Advanced – 3 hours (first class March 26)
Every week a different range of topics will be discussed in an open forum that encourages user interaction and questions. Topics will include navigating the new Dylos pixel engine to the building of cue and playback structures, as well as FX creation. Leaders will discuss the Onyx workspace environment in depth along with any other topics users are interested in addressing.

Onyx is a lighting control platform designed for both hardware consoles and PC systems. Onyx software fully integrates Obsidian’s artistic Dylos pixel composer and is available for free download for use up to four Universes from obsidiancontrol.com.
