Mount Paran Church is the world’s first house of worship to install a sanctuary loudspeaker system built upon L-Acoustics' L-ISA Hyperreal Sound technology.
It may not have been an obvious choice for blended worship services, but in the end the new L-Acoustics L-ISA multi-channel, immersive sound technology proved to be the ideal choice for Mount Paran Church in Atlanta.
In what may have been initially considered an audacious concept, the L-ISA immersive sound technology, combined with L-Acoustics’ A Series loudspeakers, became a problem solver that helped the church achieve consistent coverage for their auditorium, where much of the seating is in the balcony. The system's immersive, multi-channel capability proved to be an added bonus.
Initially, the church looked at a left-right line array loudspeaker configuration to replace their 15-year-old loudspeaker system. Sightline problems blocking views of the large, newly installed LED walls removed line arrays from consideration. Other systems and configurations proved unworkable until L-Acoustics' Josh Maichele, applications engineer and house of worship specialist, suggested trying a design using L-ISA. The coverage simulations worked and the church moved forward with the project.
Now several months after the installation, David Mendoza, technical director at the church, and Tim Corder, director of strategic accounts, house of worship at Diversified, the integrator on the project and L-Acoustics’ Josh Maichele discuss the results in this video conversation with Brian Blackmore from Church Production Magazine and DAVE.video.
