Allen & Heath is announcing the new 4U SQ-Rack. “SQ-Rack is a groundbreaking addition to the SQ series that combines SQ’s 96kHz XCVI core with comprehensive connectivity and flexible control options — packed into a compact 4U rack-mount form factor with multiple mounting options,” according to the announcement.
SQ-Rack is built on 96kHz XCVI SQ core, with 48 input channels, phase coherent mixes and ultra-low latency in a shallow 4U rack-mounted unit.

SQ-Rack features local I/O alongside an SLink port, integrating seamlessly with Allen & Heath’s Everything I/O ecosystem. Users can expand further with option cards for Dante, Waves, MADI, or additional SLink capabilities. Multichannel USB support enables recording and playback, whether connecting to a computer or directly to an external drive.
SQ-Rack also features a dedicated fader screen, customizable SQ-Control display, and tactile hands-on controls. The SQ-MixPad, SQ-4You, and SQ-Control apps offer flexibility, allowing operators to work from anywhere.

Product Manager Keith Johnson remarks “We’ve had many requests over recent years for a rack mount SQ, with no faders, so we built it! I’m proud of the SQ-Rack control options, easy touchscreen access to faders and the ‘SQ-Control’ screen and App, giving quick access and simplified custom control.”
Nicola Beretta, Director of Product, adds “SQ-Rack is designed for versatility. Ideal for installations that need band mixing, setups without an FOH position, or delivering consistent, high-quality IEM mixes on tour.”
