Aviom, manufacturer of made-in-USA industry-leading personal monitoring solutions for over 20 years, announces a major update for its flagship A640 Personal Mixer and D800 series A-Net Distributor products. This latest update includes Aviom’s patent-pending, hearing loss compensation technology called Audiogram EQ.
Ray Legnini, Aviom’s Product Research and Development Manager says, “As we age, our hearing naturally changes, usually resulting in a loss of high-frequency audio information. Virtually all adults have some degree of hearing loss.”
Audiogram EQ is designed to address an individual’s hearing loss by automatically creating a custom set of DSP filters based directly on the results of their standard hearing test. Two controls allow the user to adjust their correction in a more natural way.
According to Carl Bader, Aviom’s Co-Founder and CEO, “The magic of our Audiogram EQ is in the user controls. Since our brains have naturally compensated for our hearing loss since it started, providing filters to simply reverse a user’s loss would sound harsh and unnatural. Aviom’s unique, patent-pending control method is our secret sauce that creates an intuitive, natural, and powerful feature.”
Bader continues, “Audiogram EQ, coupled with a stereo six-band parametric EQ, and Aviom’s famous Bass/Treble/Enhance controls make up the industry’s most powerful Master EQ section on any personal mixing platform.”
“This exciting firmware release is another step in Aviom’s commitment to keeping our A640/D800 personal mixing system the most advanced personal monitor mixing platform in the world. I’ve wanted to incorporate Audiogram EQ into our personal mixers for a while, but it wasn’t possible until we implemented the A640’s advanced multi-DSP platform. The results are profound.”
Visitors to NAMM 2025 can visit Aviom’s booth 18610 on the 2nd level of North Hall to enter hearing test results and dial up a custom correction. Visitors can bring an audiogram or try out a generic correction to get a feel for the system.
“This feature enhancement is one of many planned for the next few years that will continue to give consultants and system designers the ability to provide advanced features, unique to personal monitoring, to their customers, all while keeping these features easy and intuitive for performers to use,” the announcement states.
The free A640 firmware download file is user-installable from a USB flash drive and is available on the Aviom website.
All Aviom products are designed, manufactured, and supported in the USA, and are available through Aviom’s worldwide distribution network.
