Introduced at the Riedel Communications booth at ISE earlier this month, the punQtum digital partyline system is now shipping. Designed to be an affordable, easy-to use partyline solution, the system is made for use in theatres, music venues, houses of worship, corporate events and broadcast settings. Shipping now, punQtum solutions include standalone beltpacks, headsets and speaker stations. The digital products are priced along the same level as analogue systems and designed to be integrated with existing systems via an IP switch, to extend and customize existing systems on a budget.
The system supports multiple communication channels along a single wire, for groups of people to communicate with each other exclusively, such as Front of House (FOH) or lighting crew, eliminating crossed lines of communication and minimizing miscommunications during live performances or broadcasts. The system works out of the box, with default settings that can be configured by a user-friendly software interface. These systems are backed by the Riedel brand.
In terms of products, the Q110 beltpack is at the heart of the punQtum solution. These beltpacks offer two channels of IP-partyline intercom with power supplied via a standard PoE switch and each beltpack can be daisy-chained up to 8 times. Designed to be easy to use, punQtum’s Q210 speaker station includes four channels of communication, programmable buttons and the ability to trigger logic outputs. The Speaker Station is equipped with a four-port network switch. Two of the ports are rated to provide POE+ power and every POE+ capable port can power up to four wired beltpacks. Both single-ear and dual-ear headsets complete the offering, alongside punQtum’s own Q-Tool Configuration Software for system adjustments.
“It’s important to note that you don’t need the full catalogue of products to benefit from punQtum’s solutions. Both the beltpacks and speaker stations are standalone and can be easily integrated into existing systems,” comments Jiou-Pahn Lee, Program Director at punQtum. “Our products can be used on any IP network with no limits on the number of users. We want to take the fear out of IP networking. There’s no need for fancy IP switches - any IP switch will work with our products.”
