L-Acoustics has recently introduced their new L-ISA Processor II 3D multi-channel audio processing engine, which now offers multiple output configurations along with extended processing capabilities. The new processor offers four different output configurations at a tiered licensing fee which will make it more affordable for more diverse projects. In fact, L-Acoustics Product and Technology Outreach Manager Scott Sugden, says, “Previously, our L-ISA Processor could represent up to half of a smaller immersive project’s budget. But with L-ISA Processor II, the investment can very closely match production needs, which will open up immersive processing to many more venues.”
Multiple output configurations are accessed through a license fee, which gives the client or venue the ability to have full scalability with a single solution capable of future expansion if required.
The L-Acoustics L-ISA processor follows in the footsteps of its predecessor by building on the original 96 objects available, adding the ability to have a potential output count of 64-128 output channels. This will give the ability for the future expansion of an immersive audio venue to add to already established infrastructure.
The four output choices are as follows, 16 ,32, 64 or 128 all from one device at 96 kHz. All this now being scalable to smaller, more budget-minded clients or venues making it a more attractive option for many churches.
The unit is housed in a 3RU chassis and is equipped with Milan-AVB dual-networked redundancy, thus eliminating the need for a secondary unit. The product also ships standard with MADI for those with a MADI infrastructure in place.
With DiGiCo recently joining the Avnu Alliance of companies supporting the Milan-AVB protocol, many clients will already have a wide range of equipment that uses the standard, making the new L-ISA Processor II a compelling option when discussing the addition or the new implementation of an L-Acoustics Immersive audio solution into a venue. Having the entire audio infrastructure on a single, expandable, and reliable platform will put many at ease.
