HK Audio announces the launch of two new product families – Lunar Loudspeakers and Portable sub.
The Lunar series comprises three versatile, high-performance loudspeakers with 10″, 12″ and 15″ woofers. These are designed for deployment as full-range systems, monitors or as mid/high-units in combination with subwoofers from the Portable Sub series.
Portable Sub consists of two subwoofers with 15″ and 18″ drivers. These are tailor-made for Lunar and also work with the HK Audio Polar MK2 and Sonar systems.
“With the simultaneous launch of the new Lunar and Portable Sub families, HK Audio is introducing sound reinforcement solutions that combine high performance with intuitive operation and a well-thought-out system concept,” according to the announcement. “Both series have been developed independently, and each meets the specific requirements expected for professional use. While the systems perform impeccably individually, they are precisely matched to one another and realise their full potential when used together. This creates a powerful, flexible and particularly easy-to-use complete system.”
Lunar
Designed for DJs, live performers and professional PA setups, Lunar is made for those who want to avoid a complex configuration.
“At its heart is a deliberately streamlined operating concept. Predefined presets provide direct access to optimally tuned sound settings for various applications such as music, monitor or voice. This ensures a quick setup and smooth operation during use and keeps the focus on the performance at all times,” the release states.
A 32-bit DSP with FIR filter and phase correction is designed for dynamic reproduction at high volumes. Flexible connectivity options, including Bluetooth True Wireless Stereo allow for easier integration of a wide variety of signal sources.
Lunar is manufactured in Germany with wooden cabinets, a modern design and an extended five-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Portable Sub
The new Portable Sub series features a controlled low-frequency foundation. It serves as a complement to the Lunar series, but it is matched to existing HK Audio systems such as the Polar MK2 and Sonar as well.
“This gives the series a clear strength, maximum compatibility within the HK Audio system ecosystem, combined with simple, reliable operation,” the release states. “Portable Sub is based on a well-thought-out preset concept. Specially developed presets for the respective HK Audio series ensure precisely tuned, phase-stable interaction at the touch of a button. A general preset also allows the subwoofers to be easily combined with loudspeakers from other manufacturers.”
It features 1,400 W of peak power and a maximum sound pressure level of 131 dB, for well-defined bass. The integrated DSP technology for impulse response and reliable performance allows for high volumes.
An integrated stereo preamp enables the setup of 2.1 systems, while features such as flexible connection options and controls are designed to make everyday use easier.
Like the Lunar series, the Portable Sub models are manufactured in Germany.
