A.C. Americas, a North American distributor of lighting, audio, and video products, introduces Luminex’s GigaCore S30-I, a new Ethernet switch and the first in the new Sigma Series, designed for AV integration, installation, and touring environments. The GigaCore S30-I is engineered to support advanced AV protocols.
“GigaCore S30-I is positioned to make advanced AV networking accessible to a far broader range of projects. The GigaCore S30-I delivers trusted Luminex performance and proAV converged networking features in a streamlined design,” says Bart Swinnen, CEO of Luminex
“In combination with the Araneo software platform, the GigaCore S30-I enables integrators to deploy an entire AV network with one click, designed as a solution for fixed installations where speed, consistency, and confidence in the configuration are needed,” according to the announcement.
Each GigaCore can be managed through the built-in AV Web UI, while Araneo provides full network-wide monitoring, planning, and management. This unified approach is designed to boost productivity and reduce commissioning time across complex systems.
Designed for any converged professional AV network, the GigaCore S30-I handles key AV networking requirements, including predefined QoS/DiffServ settings, optimized IGMP per group (VLAN), and predefined yet editable VLANs to streamline converged Network designs. The advanced redundancy protocol RLinkX is also included as standard, for failover for redundant links and ring topologies.
The GigaCore S30-I provides connectivity with six independent SFP ports and 24 copper ports, all supporting up to 1 Gbps. For installations requiring powered devices such as endpoints or control equipment, the S30-I is also available with PoE+ on all ports.
The switch supports PTPv2 boundary clock time synchronization and is compatible with major audio and video standards, including Ravenna/AES67, Milan/AVB, ST2110, Dante, Q-SYS/Q-LAN, and more, without requiring complex configuration. This allows seamless interoperability across equipment from different manufacturers and reduces the likelihood of configuration errors.
Silent operation with intelligent fan-control technology allows the GigaCore S30-I to operate in noise-sensitive environments such as theaters, concert halls, broadcast studios, and recording spaces.
“Every Luminex device is built for long-term, mission-critical performance. The GigaCore S30-I undergoes the same extensive mechanical, thermal, and electrical stress tests applied to Luminex’s touring-grade equipment. Even devices intended for fixed installations are engineered and validated to withstand the rigors of live environments, ensuring continuous, trouble-free operation for years to come,” the release continues.
A.C. America will exhibit in InfoComm booth #N7845 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 17-19, 2026. Register for a FREE exhibit hall pass with VIP Code: ACL110.
