The Netron NS8 is a compact network switch featuring eight gigabit ports and PoE/PoE+ support designed to distribute data and power to Netron nodes or any other PoE-compatible network appliance. Its IP version, the Netron NS8 IP, is part of the IP66 range of data distribution devices for entertainment applications, providing reliable data distribution for any location that requires dust and moisture protection.
The NS8 and NS8 IP Ethernet switches are designed for show-critical lighting, sound, and video control. Although designed for lighting data distribution, the NS8 and NS8 IP are designed for audio networks using the Dante protocol. These switches include various features suited for distributing audio over IP, including VLAN and Trunk capabilities, and offer versatile mounting options to be placed where needed.
“Although the market offers an immense amount of IP-rated entertainment technology, no IP-rated data distribution devices have provided the infrastructure needed for modern programming,” the announcement staes. “The Netron IP66 range—the world’s first line of IP66-rated data distribution products for entertainment—combines the proven chassis and connector technology of Elation’s IP65/66 Proteus lighting fixtures with the Netron data platform.” The RDM6 IP, EN6 IP, and NS8 IP feature a custom-designed die-cast body, impact-resistant paint, IP ports, and touch controls.
