2025 has come and gone, and, of course, we couldn’t stop talking about gear here at Church Production. More than a few new releases and innovations stood out to us, and we wanted to highlight them for you. In alphabetical order, this is the gear we really loved in 2025.
ADJ AX2 Lighting Controller
After years of consoles growing more powerful but complex, ADJ has delivered a solution that church techs can actually use. The new AX2 lighting controller brings the pro‑level Onyx platform from Obsidian into a compact, approachable console built for serious shows.
The AX2 combines a 15.6″ touchscreen, tactile playbacks, and up to 32 DMX universes with the DYLOS Media Engine, letting teams create dynamic pixel effects and layered visuals without extra gear.
Best part? It’s powerful, versatile, and designed for volunteer‑friendly workflows, making it a smart option for houses of worship ready to take their lighting to the next level. List price is $8,999.99
Audinate’s Dante Virtual Sound Card Pro
Audinate has leveraged Dante into the leading AVoIP solution for just about any live audio environment that currently exists, and they stepped it up this year with the Virtual Sound Card Pro, which brings 96khz, 128x128 audio into any DAW that your church uses for live audio capture. That means no more compromising audio quality for live recording.
Of course, it’s plug & play, and it’s affordable—just $125 for an annual subscription.
ETC High End System’s Megapix
ETC’s new MegaPix wash fixture brings pixel-level control and rich color into a compact design built for the long haul. With 10,000 lumens, a 4.5°–50° zoom, and ETC’s RGBL color engine, it delivers consistent, high-quality output service after service. Best part? MegaPix is designed to be maintained and rebuilt over time, making it a true buy-once, use-for-years fixture—unlike cheaper options meant to be replaced when they wear out.
L-Acoustics' Sound Spaces
Immersive audio is the new frontier of church sound, and L-Acoustics specializes in leading the charge.
With their new Sound Spaces technology, a church can tailor the mix down to specific areas of a room and to any other room in the building that it would like, all from one processor.
"Think of a sanctuary running an immersive L-ISA mix,” says Josh Maichele, Global Applications Lead for L-Acoustics. “Sound Spaces lets you take that same mix and render it for other rooms—a chapel, a broadcast control room, a lobby, a green room, or even under-balcony and front fill zones within the same auditorium.”
Sound Spaces will make every room and even different parts of one room sound, well… perfect. It’s our favorite thing happening right now in live audio.
Nikon ZR Full-frame Sensor Camera
After Nikon acquired RED in 2024, film people waited to see what the legacy manufacturer would do with the new tech they’d purchased, and Nikon has not disappointed, even after trailing Canon and Sony in the digital video market since the release of the D90 in 2008. The ZR marks Nikon’s departure from just the “prosumer” market.
The ZR blends Nikon’s approachability with RED’s color science into a camera that can produce some serious footage for serious film makers. It’s compact size not only boasts RED color science, but also a full-frame sensor, 6K resolution up to 59.94p, and 15 stops of dynamic range.
Perhaps the best part? The price tag—it’s $2000. That makes it a great option for churches looking for a seriously good camera.
PunQtum Intercom System
PunQtum has done for team intercoms what Audinate has done for audio signal. The PunQtum Intercom System is an audio-over-ethernet solution for your intercom system, complete with PoE receivers for each position on your team.
We ran a road test on it earlier this year, and the reviews were raving—if you don’t want wireless intercoms (although they have an app for using your phone to go wireless), this is the solution for your church. It’s affordable, scalable, and dead simple to integrate. We’re excited to see what PunQtum does with this momentum in the intercom space in the future.
We hope your 2025 was awesome and we’re looking forward to new offerings and road tests in 2026. Happy New Year!
