Waves announces the Hear Technologies Dante-WSG XS, a compact, more affordable way to connect Dante audio networks directly to Waves SoundGrid systems. The Dante-WSG XS offers a smaller footprint than previous devices, with a more accessible price point, bringing Dante-to-SoundGrid integration to more live sound, broadcast and installed audio applications.
“For Waves LV1 Classic users, the Dante-WSG XS offers a compact, cost-effective way to expand and integrate their systems into Dante-based workflows,” the company’s announcement states. “As Dante adoption continues to grow across live sound and installed audio, the Dante-WSG XS enables seamless scaling and network integration. It also provides reliable Dante connectivity for all Waves SoundGrid users, including LV1 and SuperRack systems.”
Dante-WSG XS delivers low-latency audio networking performance, while fitting into streamlined rigs and mobile setups, while supporting 64 channels of bidirectional audio between Dante and SoundGrid at 44.1-48 kHz sample rates and 32 channels at 88-96 kHz.
Its compact half-rack design is made for flypacks, portable production systems, houses of worship, touring engineers and compact installations where space matters. Measuring 8.66” W x 1.64” H x 8.95” D and weighing 3 lb., the Dante-WSG XS is easier to integrate into both mobile and fixed setups and can be mounted on a rack shelf or with optional rack-mount accessories.
