You don’t have to do it all—trust, show up, and let God handle the rest.
I’m not sure what you’re going through, production leader. Maybe it’s a personal thing at home or with close family. It might be at work—your marketplace office (if you volunteer at church) or your church office if you work in ministry. I honestly have no clue. I just know that sometimes we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles or situations that catch us unprepared.
It happens to everyone, and there’s an encouraging word for you.
You’re not alone—take heart, trust the process, and know that God is working for you.
After returning to Jerusalem from captivity in Babylon, the Israelites faced tough circumstances. The walls of the city remained torn down, and their temple lay in ruins. The book of Nehemiah tells the details of the rebuilding process, but the book of Zechariah gives us extra insight as the Lord speaks to the heart of Zerubbabel, who, alongside Nehemiah, is tasked with rebuilding the temple in the presence of Israel’s pagan enemies.
Verse six of chapter four declares, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
Of course, we have to be careful when applying ancient Old Testament prophecies to our present-day lives, but those words resonate throughout time, that we have an infinitely strong, wise, and capable Power working on our behalf for our good at all times.
In the midst of the struggle, remember: God is working ahead of you.
I used to experience much anxiety about my church production work because I felt inadequate, undereducated, and simply unfit for the job --- especially years ago when I was also the worship pastor at my church. Wearing both hats is particularly tough, and many of you are familiar with that predicament— running a production team and a worship team while also pastorally leading half of Sunday morning service.
You are not alone, no matter your situation. A great Help is with you, is for you, and is working ahead of you. All He asks for is your diligence (imperfect diligence is welcome!), to show up with your intention and entrust the ends to His good will.
You do not have trust your own might or your own power. The Spirit of God Himself is working for you.
Take heart. Be of good courage. Find rest in the knowledge of the presence of God with you.
