The Woodlands, Texas, September 25, 2024 – Woodlands Church, just outside of Houston was the site of the eighth annual Capture Summit 2024 September 17-18th, 2024 where hundreds of church techs and creatives gathered for two days of education, worship and confidence-building for believers doing church video production, filmmaking, streaming and digital communications.

The event included keynote addresses from Kerry Shook, senior lead and founding pastor at Woodlands Church who spoke about “How Stay Creative,” and Jay Owen from The Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville, Florida, who spoke on “Avoiding Burnout & Curating Healthy Culture with Creative Teams.”

Attendees were also invited to tour Woodlands Church’s extensive production facilities and were treated to daily worship with Woodlands Worship. Woodlands Church creative arts ministry is led by brothers Steven and Josh Shook. Woodlands Worship officially launched its name into the worship music scene with the release of its debut album in 2019.
The Woodlands Church production and facilities teams made sure the conference ran smoothly and attendees, speakers and exhibitors had everything they needed. The crowd was also treated to a networking reception on day one that was catered with delicious hors d oeuvres.
A highlight of each year’s Capture Summit is the Filmcraft Film Festival, sponsored by Worship House Media. The short film, “Unseen” from Times Square Church in New York City won best overall. Lead filmmaker, and alumna and former Capture presenter, Austin Allen co-wrote the piece and says it was, “based on our own experiences with mental health and our faith journey.”

Churches from across the 29 states and 10 countries attended, many were returning to Capture Summit for several consecutive years.
Creatives watched tech demonstrations from featured sponsors like Sony, Nanlite, Evertz and Lightstar.
