AKG by Harman announced the new AKG C636 master reference handheld condenser microphone at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Building on the existing studio C535 microphone, the C636 provides professional singers with enhanced stage reliability and performance. In addition to a custom-tuned capsule, the C636 is engineered to reject feedback, handling noise, and pop noise for clean, clear performances.
The C636 incorporates a dual shock suspension system to reduce unwanted handling noise. An internal rubber bearing removes structural noise while an adjustable balancing system cancels vibrations over the entire frequency range.
A multilayer protection system consists of the capsule grill, a foam layer behind the grill, and a magnetically attached mesh layer on top, designed to give singers clear, pop-free performance. With a zinc-alloy housing and gold plated capsule, the C636 is designed to withstand the rigors of live performance and touring.
