Alex Neil is the production director at CityLight Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. As part of the Church Production Road Test User Experience, Neil agreed to evaluate RodeCaster Video, an all-in-one audio production, video production control console from Rode. Neil says this unit couldn’t be simpler to operate.

“It is a big red button. Wherever you want to send your stream, you plug in the RodeCaster Video unit into your computer, you set up your stream, your stream key, and all you do is you hit record and it will automatically send that feed straight to your stream.”
Neil and his team tried RodeCaster Video out at the church’s newest campus, CityLight Kearney, which is just starting their journey in video production. He says the unit was a fantastic introduction to video that allowed them to really experience it firsthand without all the complicated details that go into the settings of other video consoles.
One-button recording and streaming helped turn a complex workflow into something volunteers could learn quickly.
“I was really impressed with the simplicity of it. And I think that's why at CityLight, I was so intrigued to get this implemented because simplicity is like our game. We love simplicity. You can invite someone in the youth group to use this device. You can invite an empty nester to come and use this device. You can use people from every age and every background because of how simple the unit is, and you can teach them to use it well,” Neil concludes.
