Q: What challenges are Pro Intercom addressing in the church market at this year’s WFX?
A: Few ministries have lots of money to splash around on equipment, and intercom would certainly not be their choice for where to spend an extra dollar or two. Our challenge is to provide high-quality, inexpensive intercom solutions for small to medium-sized ministries. For larger ministries, we look to help them leverage existing equipment into their ever more complicated audio requirements. Why throw out what works if it can be added to and fulfill today’s needs? For this reason, we work to ensure product compatibility, both across our products and other manufacturers.
Q: What trends or themes do you expect to dominate/emerge at this year’s WFX?
A: Thanks to the FCC auction, I would expect to see a great deal of equipment, both new and revised, that conforms to the available frequencies. Keeping up with the evolution of wireless is almost a full-time job. Very often a church will believe they need several wireless channels and are forced to revise their expectations when presented with the price tag.
Security is another theme that seems to be appearing more in church requirements. Unfortunately, the need to communicate with all members of a congregation, instantaneously, has become a requirement or at least a consideration. How to make that possible without draining the bank account is probably in many minds at the show.
Q: What are the main areas of focus for Pro Intercom at WFX?
A: For us, shows like WFX are about communication, focusing on listening to our dealers and customers, determining how their needs are changing. We also focus on communicating our commitment to churches through a high level of service. And lastly, to communicating our movement forward by partnering with ListenTechnologies to provide wireless stations at very affordable prices.
Q: Why should attendees at WFX visit the Pro Intercom booth?
A: Seeing products in action is always worthwhile and can answer questions instantly. There are unique requirements in every church production environment and communicating these requirements to us in person can be very effective. Intercom is about communicating requirements whether those are for wireless or wireline, for security or for the sanctuary.
