Debuting on the Acoustic Sage at Glastonbury Festival near Pilton village in Somerset, England, the Maverick MK3 Spot from Chauvet Professional created such a powerful impression on one visiting lighting designer that he thought it was a 1700W arc lamp fixture at first sighting. Such is the brightness of this 820W moving LED fixture with a 51,000-lumen source.
However, the new spot fixture is more than a potent light cannon, the manufacturer notes. Aside from packing enough punch to rock even the largest arena, the Maverick MK3 Spot is also loaded with features that make it right at home in a variety of applications, from major events to broadcast projects.
“We designed this tool to be as versatile as it is powerful.”

“Our goal in developing this product was to create an extremely bright and intense fixture that was also flexible enough to meet multiple needs for designers and rental houses,” says Albert Chauvet, CEO of the company.
In keeping with this design philosophy, the Maverick MK3 Spot puts a wide palette of colors at designers’ fingertips, thanks to it s CMY + CTO color mixing and color wheel.
The precision designed fixtures also features a fast 9:1 zoom ratio that maintains a flat field of focus even when fully wide.
Other features include adjustable CRI from 73 to 93, two overlapping prisms (5-facet linear and 5-facet round) to provide greater prism options, three gobo wheels (two rotating and one static) for endless texturing possibilities, two frost options (superlight and medium), 16 bit dimming, and an animation wheel.
The versatile Maverick MK3 Spot offers a variety of control options including flexible DMX, sACN, Art-Net or W-DMX.
