Texas Multipurpose Space Speaks to Kids and Families

Inside and out, Kidcreek at Woodcreek Church is a dynamic destination.

Woodcreek Church, located in Richardson, Texas, partnered with Dallas-based GFF on the expansion of its children’s ministry, known as “Kidcreek,” a project that began in 2018. The 28,600-square-foot facility contains a large two-story family commons area, children’s assembly and small group classrooms, an indoor play space, and a multipurpose activity room. Themed zones based on age group (Nursery through 5th Grade) were developed by Woodcreek in collaboration with Kendra McDougal Design Consultants.

GFF utilized playful colors and materials to reinforce each theme: The Dock, The Nest, Lil Creek, The Cove, and The Bridge. Polished concrete flooring in the family commons provides ease of maintenance, while lively carpet and paint accents assist in wayfinding to the classrooms.

The multipurpose room, known as the Wildwood Activity Center, fulfills a multitude of needs for the church, acting as a play space for children’s ministries, a gym/game space for youth and young adults, and as overflow seating for worship services on Sundays.
