The s_enn Shading System has roll-formed rods welded onto stainless steel tapes that allow the panels to be rolled up like a standard roller shade, the company reports. The hollow stainless steel sections are lightweight. The rods are placed to allow a nice view-through while direct light is blocked when the sun is at an angle of 20 degrees or higher.
Very wind stable, the system has reportedly been tested in a wind tunnel at speeds of up to 80mph/126kph with no damage, making the system workable on the exterior of high-rise buildings.
