Blue Ridge Chapel in Rocky Mount, Virginia has been serving their community for over 40 years. Their campus has grown from being a few buildings on a dirt road to a large 150+ acre college campus with multiple buildings and dormitories. They have a two-fold focus. One is to serve their community through their local church with community events as well as a prison ministry. The second focus of Blue Ridge Chapel is training men and women through Blue Ridge Bible College.
This summer Blue Ridge Chapel will undergo a transformation. On June 12th, the 5 Words Media engineering team plans to begin building out the new AVL system the church won in their #FreeChurchAV giveaway.
In September 2022, 5 Words Media, an audio, video, and lighting production company located in Phoenix, Arizona, launched Season 4 of their annual giveaway to support churches and provide an opportunity to receive a completely free AV and lighting system. Between #FreeChurchAV’s Season 4 launch on September 7th and the submission deadline on December 7th, 5 Words Media received completed entries from 782 churches from 38 states across the US. One of the entries came from Luke Crandall at Blue Ridge Chapel. “We feel so honored and excited to be chosen as the winners of FreeChurchAV Season 4! This system is going to accelerate and enhance our vision to provide practical AVL instruction to our students,” says Crandall, lead pastor at Blue Ridge Chapel.
After selecting and announcing Blue Ridge Chapel as the winner, 5 Words Media began the process of fully evaluating their existing venue and gear, designing and building the perfect system for their facility and ministry needs. This year, there is a record number of sponsors at different investment levels, some of which include Absen, Forecast, Elation, Marshall, DAS Audio, and Ross. Representatives from these sponsor companies will visit the church in person to lend support and expertise by training staff and volunteers on their new systems and gear.
As a Platinum Sponsor of #FreeChurchAV, Absen was able to provide a brand-new Acclaim LED Video Display. This new display, valued at $40,000 will allow the church to play vibrant and immersive video to the growing congregation and Bible college at the church.
