Jim Gregory, House of Worship Account Manager, Main Light
Main Light, a leading dry hire firm, has promoted Jim Gregory to the position of National House of Worship Account Manager. “This new role aligns with Main Light's stated mission, and well-deserved reputation, for providing exemplary service to the production technology industry,” the announcement states. “With an understanding of the uniqueness of the House of Worship market segment, the company is pleased to be able to put a focus on the market's needs through Gregory's appointment.”
“This position is a National House of Worship Account Manager,” explains Randy Mullican, CEO of Main Light, LLC. “We wanted to have somebody at Main Light that's specifically focused on the House of Worship market, for rentals, used equipment sales, as well as some new box goods sales. With our expanded capabilities in our three US locations, we feel that this new role is the best way for us to effectively support the HOW market. And Jim is eminently qualified to best address the needs of our HOW clients. With his past experience working in both churches and production/rental houses, as well as having been with a manufacturer as a salesperson for GLP; he brings both sales knowledge and market expertise.”
“The House of Worship market is often an underserved, and at times, misunderstood market. It is best serviced by somebody that is familiar with the market,” comments Gregory, who himself is an ordained pastor. “I have been involved in the HOW realm all of my adult life; for years I've been on staff with churches and am presently serving as a volunteer technical director at my church, so I am very familiar with this market. This is a very comfortable step for me and a thoughtful acknowledgment of the needs of this market by Main Light. I look forward to helping those in HOW, many who I consider friends, understand how Main Light can offer the right option to support their work engaging with their congregations through lighting.”
Though Main Light operates as a dry hire rental house, the company sells used equipment as they keep their rental inventory stocked with the state-of-the-art lighting equipment needed by the wider live entertainment industry. Mullican explains, “As we do have a strong used sales division, we are able to help the church market with installations where they may not have the budget for brand new fixtures but could afford used fixtures in good condition. Main Light can provide them with cost-effective equipment that has been well-maintained. We’re excited to start working with the HOW market and know that Jim's promotion will expand the level of support we provide them. Whether through rentals or used equipment sales, Jim and Main Light is certainly ready to address the needs of the HOW market.”
Though based at the Main Light South office, Gregory will cover the North American HOW market.
