Designed for high brightness, excellent image quality, low maintenance and installation flexibility, the new Sony VPL-FHZ120L 3LCD Laser Projector offers 12,000 lumens of output and WUXGA (1,920x1,200) resolution. Along with its companion, the VPL-FHZ90L with 9,000 lumens of brightness with the same WUXGA resolution, the two new projectors represent a step up in brightness from Sony's previous laser projector line up, which until now topped out at 7,000 lumens. With the new 12,000-lumen VPL-FHZ120L, Sony, for the first time, is competing in the church market with the likes of Digital Projection, Christie, Barco, Epson, Panasonic and others in the laser-powered, large-venue, installation-grade projector category.
According to a Sony product announcement at InfoComm 2018, the VPL-FHZ120L includes “industry-leading wide lens shift capabilities” of max vertical ±107%, horizontal ±60%. And unlike some other laser projectors, these two new Sony units are sRGB100% compliant, meaning they can be used in applications like museums and exhibitions where very precise color management is required.
Also, like many other laser projectors, the VPL-FHZ120L 3LCD Laser Projector features long life and increased installation flexibility when compared to lamp-based projectors, meaning they can be positioned at various angles without risk of overheating.
VPL-FHZ120L is planned to be available in August 2018 and VPL-FHZ90L is planned to be available in September.
