Sound Productions (SoundPro), a leading distributor of professional audio, lighting and video equipment, announces an extension of their Shure wireless microphone trade-in offer. Now until November 5th customers can bring or mail in wireless microphone systems for discounts on new Shure wireless systems.
SoundPro is offering up to $250 per channel in instant rebates for old equipment in that frequency range to help customers adapt, following the Federal Communication Commissions (FCC) decision to phase out use of the 600 MHz band for wireless audio.
By the end of this year, using mics in the 600-MHz broadband frequencies will be illegal. According to FCC rules, wireless microphones and personal monitors that are capable of operating in the auctioned UHF spectrum (616-653 MHz and 663-698 MHz) may not be used after a transition period. If a local mobile broadband licensee begins using these frequencies before that date, the wireless user must change frequencies to avoid interfering with them.
Because of these changes, SoundPro is offering the rebate deal for new Shure equipment. There is no limit to the number of old systems that can be traded in to Sound Pro, the equipment does not have to be in working condition, does not have to be in the 600MHz band, and all brands are welcome. Products must be received by Sound Productions on or before November 5th, 2019. Customers will receive an instant rebate toward a new Shure wireless purchase.
