The latest addition to ADJ’s COB Cannon Series of LED wash lighting fixtures, the COB Cannon LP200, “offers incredible color mixing from a full-size fixture that is ideal for use as a pendant-style house light as well as many other applications,” according to the company’s announcement. Featuring a lime-infused COB LED light source, this fixture is designed for output with a high CRI and a spectrum of color options including white light with variable color temperature.
The COB Cannon LP200 has a 200-Watt COB (Chip On Board) LED engine, which combines red, green, blue, amber and lime LED chips designed for color mixing with a uniform output free from color shadows spectrum of colors, ranging from saturates to soft pastels, as well as white light with a color temperature variable between 2300K (warm) and 9900K (cool). The fixture’s LED engine offers a CRI of >90 to render colors accurately to illuminate scenery, décor, and people.
The COB Cannon LP200 shares its casing design with ADJ’s other COB Cannon fixtures. However, while in the past separate Dynamic White and Color versions were necessary, the new lime-infused color engine allows this fixture to provide the same output as both older units combined. This full-size COB Cannon is designed for house lighting applications where the fixture is mounted pointing directly down. To aid with this type of fixture placement, the COB Cannon LP200 features Omega bracket connection points on its rear panel, allowing direct connection of a clamp to the fixture. However, it is also supplied with a removable scissor yoke, which locks securely into place using a pair of large plastic thumb-tightening screws and can either be used as a variable-angle hanging bracket or floor stand. For applications where space is tight, for example stage lighting in a room with a low ceiling height, ADJ also offers the compact COB Cannon LP200ST version, which shares the same LED engine and feature set but delivered in a shorter enclosure.
A wide native beam angle of 80-degrees allows the COB Cannon LP200 to wash a large area with vibrant colored light. It is also supplied with a lens kit with both 40-degree and 50-degree lens options, which clip to the front of the fixture to provide a narrower beam angle when required. Barn doors for directing the light output are also available as an optional accessory [BAR001 – COB Cannon Wash Barn Doors].

A variety of operational modes allow use in permanent installation and temporary event applications. Colors can be selected directly from the digital display located on the rear panel of the fixture, which features a menu interface navigated using four push buttons. Multiple fixtures can then be linked together using DMX cables for a simple Primary/Secondary setup where subsequent (Secondary) fixtures will mimic the output of the first (Primary) unit. An ADJ UC IR remote control is also supplied with the fixture, which can be used to select colors from a distance.
The COB Cannon LP200 can also be controlled via DMX with a choice of 10 different DMX channel modes (5, 8, 9, 10A, 10B, 11, 12, 14, 17 and 21), which can be selected based on the level of control required and the number of channels available in a particular situation. As well as full 16-bit color mixing control over the unit’s five primary LED colors, linear white light color temperature control is also facilitated via a single channel and DMX can be used to remotely select any of the fixture’s 64 built-in color macros.
A wide variety of customizable options are available, allowing the fixture to be configured to a user’s personal preferences or the specific requirements of a particular application. These include six selectable dimming modes (Standard, Stage, TV, Architectural & Theatre), four selectable dimming curves (Square, Linear, Inverse Square & Square Curve) and adjustable dimming speed (between 0.1 and 10 seconds). In addition, the LED Refresh Rate can also be adjusted using 14 presets (ranging from 900Hz to 25,000Hz) to eliminate flicker for broadcast or video capture applications. All these customizable parameters can be altered via DMX as well as directly from the menu interface on the rear of the unit.
Input and output connections are located on the rear of the unit, with locking power and 5-pin DMX input sockets on one side and locking power and 5-pin DMX output sockets on the other, allowing for more convenient cable runs between multiple fixtures. Using the power output sockets, up to five COB Cannon LP200 fixtures can be daisy-chained from a single outlet. The unit is also fitted with a USB Service Port, which will facilitate loading of any future firmware updates.
Weighing in at 9.45 lbs. (4.3 kg.), the COB Cannon LP200 is only marginally heavier than the compact ST version and is easy to lift, carry and rig. With dimensions of 16.25” x 9.75” x 7.5” (415 x 245 x 192mm) [LxWxH] it is identical to legacy full-size COB Cannon fixtures.
The COB Cannon LP200 is designed for a variety of permanent installation and temporary event applications including stage washing, highlighting décor, illuminating dancefloors, and house lighting. The fixture is shipping now from ADJ USA and will not be available from ADJ Europe.
