Da-Lite Introduces New SightLine Electric Screen Feature

Suspension screen design eliminates need for black drop and gives impression of minimalist floating screen.

Da-Lite is introducing its new aircraft-grade cable drop screen feature, SightLine. The single roller suspension system, available with Da-Lite’s Tensioned Advantage  and Advantage screens, is designed to remove the need for black drop above the projection screen. The new feature also creates space above a screen to place cameras or speakers, while its low-profile design can preserve a room’s architectural integrity.

“SightLine straddles the fine line between status quo and jaw drop,” says Wendy Cox, Director of Product Management at Da-Lite. “This new cable drop feature has the opportunity to transform spaces with enhanced aesthetics and new AV capabilities. Whether someone is leading a lesson in a classroom, a meeting in a conference room or an event in a multi-purpose space, they will enjoy a completely reimagined space.”

Traditionally, black drop is manufactured to a room’s specific dimensions and drop distance, disallowing changes or height adjustments in the future. "SightLine streamlines the ordering and installation process and future-proofs projects with a flexible drop distance up to 70 inches," the announcement states. 

Additionally, SightLine’s low-profile design is made to enhance the space’s architectural integrity. Three or four cables reveal the space in between the ceiling and top of the screen, and the Tensioned Advantage and Advantage can be mounted flush to the ceiling, concealing it from view.

Da-Lite’s Tensioned Advantage (up to 177 inches Diagonal 16:9 and up to 182 inches Diagonal 16:10) and Advantage with SightLine (up to 184 inches Diagonal in 16:9 and up to 189 inches Diagonal in 16:10) are now available for purchase and is shipping.
