The Capture Content Creation and Filmmaking Summit is coming to the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area in 2023. Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas will be Capture’s host church August 7-9. Capture is an event unlike any other focusing on content creation, video production and how those capabilities align with a churches’ online presence and digital strategy. The event is produced by Church Production and CPM Live Events.
Church Production Editor, Brian Blackmore says, “Content creation and filmmaking provide powerful, tangible images to show how God is working using messages everyone can understand. Capture is where church technical and creative teams can learn how to maximize their video production capabilities and expand their reach in this increasingly media-driven society.
“It’s the only event of its kind focused strictly on video production and digital strategy.”
—Brian Blackmore, editor, Church Production
“Since churches have reopened after COVID, many have been struggling with a hybrid church model,” continues Blackmore. “They’re deciding which content is for the live audience or for the online audience. What does that look like? How do we staff for that? What kind of equipment do we need to do that well? These are some of the questions we aim to answer at the 2023 Capture Summit.
Where Creativity Thrives, Christ Shines
“We’re designing the conference with something for the live production manager, videographer, filmmaker, creative pastor, and for senior leaders so they can come together for a conversation about the current struggles and how to best prepare for the future. Also, so they can discuss what role will technology have in shaping video ministry in the next 5-10 years and beyond,” Blackmore explains. “It’s the only event of its kind focused strictly on video production and digital strategy.”
Cottonwood Creek Church, located just north of Dallas, is a large and influential church community with high production values and an expansive facility that will allow Capture to grow in terms of exhibit space and the number of conference sessions.
The Capture team is excited to be working with Cottonwood Creek’s Online Minister, Will Chapman and his team. They have an extremely impressive amount of background and experience in production technology and technical ministry. The event will feature tours of the Cottonwood Creek Church facility, as well as panel discussions on how Cottonwood Creek manages their live and online presence. Overall, the Capture Summit will feature up to 50 break sessions taught primarily by experienced church techs and creatives from across the country.

The 7th Annual Church Filmcraft Film Festival & Awards
Capture is in its seventh year in 2023 and will bring back the popular Church Filmcraft Film Festival. Prizes are awarded for best testimonial, best bumper, best music video and others.
Blackmore concludes, “Regardless the size of the church, everyone wants to learn how to produce great video content, and how to program worship services so that they have the most impact for in-person and online audiences. They also want to network and develop new relationships with fellow church techs and creatives from across the country and around the world. Capture is where churches can do and learn these things and more, because having a great online and social presence depends in large part on competent video production.”
