Not every church has a full creative staff and even those that do often struggle with how to create all the visual content they want. Often the biggest struggle of being a church creative is bandwidth. How am I supposed to get it all done?
Church Production Magazine partnered with Church Alive in Lyndhurst, New Jersey to learn more about a product called Shift Worship - a massive platform designed to help church graphic designers, videographers, web editors, and live production staff. It features everything from finished video content to graphic design and video templates, motion graphics, and much more. This Church Production Magazine Road Test Video features our Marcel Patillo and Church Alive’s Communications Director Sarah Oliveira.
Around 2000 people attend Church Alive during four services on the weekend and online, which puts more pressure on Oliveira to keep the church connected with their audience on a visual level. Sarah goes into how Shift Worship has really given them the resources to make that possible.
“Shift Worship is a one-stop shop for church creatives in a lot of ways because it hits the graphic designers, the videographers, the photographers, and the communications roles,” Oliveira explains. “All of those people can benefit from Shift Worship because of its ability to have templates for series graphics, for social media graphics for video content, pre-made content, but then also motion graphics, which a lot of even production team members could benefit from. So, it really hits a lot of the areas that any creative in a church environment would need to borrow from if they're needing help in putting out content, creating content.”
Oliveira says another thing she appreciates about Shift Worship is the availability of video backgrounds because she hasn’t found those on other platforms. She says churches often find themselves in different seasons of growth like Church Alive is right now and needing help creating more content. “Shift Worship has been super helpful for our church as we are growing a lot. As our bandwidth has been smaller in a growing church, the amount of staff we have compared to churchgoers isn't always in line with one another at first because our bandwidth is smaller.”
She also thinks Shift Worship would also be super helpful to smaller churches that don’t have a creative staff but still want to reach members visually. “I think Shift Worship can help you with that just because of the amount of templates, the amount of services they offer within the platform kind of covers all the major areas you need in terms of creatives, which is honestly a massive win for a lot of churches.”
Oliveira says she has searched Shift Worship for so many different topics and sometimes she even searches it just for ideas to create something in-house.
