Velocity Pro Systems of Newport Beach, Calif., and Nashville, Tenn., an audio/video/lighting/acoustics design and build firm, continues in its newest form in 2019. Founded in 2009 by a team with a combined 65 years of experience, Velocity Pro Systems remains passionate about equipping churches and businesses with customized technical solutions to support their ministry or brand context. Telling stories through technology, each partnership focuses on inspired design, unrivaled care, and financial stewardship—plus a bit of fun, according to the Velocity team.
The team
Scott Carman, founder and CEO, discovered the aesthetic and technical needs of growing churches when he worked at a Southern California megachurch. As other congregations approached him seeking similar innovation, Carman realized he could enhance ministry by resourcing churches to meet their individualized goals. Yet it did not stop at the nonprofit level; Carman develops communication solutions for brands across the spectrum.
“Technology is best used to improve connection to the message and eliminate distractions,” says Carman. “We appreciate what you’re trying to accomplish, and we’re not just going to sell you gear—we’re going to develop a solution that fulfills your desired end result. We build and design with our clients’ clients in mind.”
Mike Sessler, chief of design and integration, worked for years as a technical director on staff at several churches with both big and small budgets, and he spent a lot of time tearing out technology that did not fit ministry needs or work with existing infrastructure. He has been developing best practices over the past decade as a project leader with other AV integrators. From that experience, Sessler values efficiency and stewardship, and specializes in creating personalized solutions up front that will last the long haul through growth and budget changes.
“We want to come alongside as a trusted partner, get to know each church, and design what’s right for them,” Sessler says. “I am not necessarily concerned with what the size of the project is or the scope. I want to make sure that what we’re doing is going to be the right solution for this customer.”
Gino Beltran, vice president of marketing and business development, has created marketing campaigns for industries as varied as sports, fine arts, electronics, and apparel. He discovered he could utilize his story skills in various ministry roles, as well. In 2009 Beltran was founding creative arts pastor at a Southern California church plant. Caring about the way tech can enhance client communication comes naturally, because he is an award-winning video producer who understands the value of quality production resources.
“It is an honor to share our clients’ stories, showcasing the innovative aspects of telling tales through technology,” says Beltran. “I have the great privilege of spotlighting our expertise and our capability to help clients effectively deliver messages that matter.”
Velocity Pro Systems’ services include a concentrated design process, available in onsite or telepresence options. Velocity works in concert with each client so that the ideal result is both efficient and affordable.
