URTA, the University Resident Theatre Association, is coming to the LDI Show in Las Vegas and will be holding a day of MFA interviews at the LDI Show on Sunday, November 24.
The organization works with students and early career artists and technicians looking to further their training in lighting design, sound design, projection/media and technical production.
At this one-day “pop-up” event, you’ll have the opportunity to share your work with recruiters from more than 20 top university MFA programs. Follow up interviews will take place the same day.
URTA and LDI have designed a “training track” for attendees of the show. Those taking part in the “Pop -up URTAs” are encouraged to attend a Saturday morning guided tour of the show floor, a portfolio review session on Saturday afternoon, and a continuing education session on Sunday morning, sponsored by a grant from ETC, a global leader in the manufacturing of lighting and rigging technology. Registration URTA provides all attendees show floor passes for the entire show.
“We’re looking forward to meeting new candidates in Las Vegas, at one of the most dynamic lighting, design and production events in the industry,” says URTA Executive Director, Tony Hagopian.
URTA member schools undergo a peer review assessment and offer various forms of financial assistance which may include tuition remission, scholarships, financial aid, paid assistantships, stipends, or a combination of these.
URTA Candidate Awards offer free registration to all candidates in the area of sound design, as well as free entry to all continuing education programming.
