Promising a powerful LED source, easy-to-adjust framing shutters, and a textured glass gobo, ADJ announces the Ikon Profile LED as, “...a compact gobo projector that allows users to create bright, adaptable gobo effects from one portable unit, without breaking the bank.”
The new projector, introduced at the NAMM 2016 tradeshow in Anaheim, Calif., is fitted with a 32W white LED source that the company's release says, “...allows for a powerful beam of opti-mized white light and gobo projections that are not only extra-bright, but crisp and rich too.” The fixture comes with 5 gobo patterns; 1 textured glass gobo and 4 metal gobos. Custom metal or glass gobos may be produced to create a unique look.
The beam angle may be manually adjusted (15-40-degrees) and the gobo swapped out, effec-tively allowing the projector to be instantly turned into a spotlight. With five dimmer curves available, the beams are designed for everything from architectural applications to stage per-formances. Users can change the beam angle to suit their needs and manually focus the unit.
The other key feature is its framing shutters. Manually adjustable, they allow users to craft the light produced by the unit into any four-sided shape. Whether they require a square beam or a wider rectangular form, users can match the Ikon Profile's projection to venue features or spe-cific areas, for a sleeker, more uniform look.
"For the forward-thinking new Ikon Profile, we’ve combined a powerful 32W LED with interchangeable gobos and manually adjustable beam angle/focus to offer users an exceptionally versatile gobo projector that also doubles as a spotlight unit."

ADJ has fitted the unit with a single drop-in GOBO slot (for 26.8mm GOBOs). This enables the use of metal gobos or glass, and users can interchange them. The compact new unit also gives users the flexibility to add color filters and color correction filters to generate beam projections in a range of vivid hues.
“High-power gobo effects can really take a lightshow to the next level, so naturally we wanted to provide that option to our customers while keeping the price at a fair point,” says Alfred Gonzales, National Sales Manager for ADJ USA. “For the forward-thinking new Ikon Profile, we've combined a powerful 32W LED with interchangeable gobos and manually adjustable beam angle/focus to offer users an exceptionally versatile gobo projector that also doubles as a spotlight unit.”
The Ikon Profile provides a four-channel DMX mode (with 3-pin DMX connections)– as well as offering compatibility with ADJ's UC IR remote and Airstream IR App, allowing for wireless con-trol from a distance of up to 30ft. giving users the freedom to control the unit from any position. Using the Airstream IR App, users can trigger gobo projections from the convenience of a handheld iOS device.
The unit weighs 6 lbs. (2.7kg) and has compact dimensions (16 x 6 x 9in / 406 x 152 x 229mm) for mobile entertainment. The projector is also well suited to houses of worship, nightclubs, bars, stage productions and event retail outlets. For bigger events, where the fixture is used in multiples, the Ikon Profile's IEC power outlet allows the power for up to 16 units to be daisy-chained at 120V.
Users may run the Ikon Profile all night long without any duty cycle, because of the low heat output and efficient LED source. The unit also ships with an included scissor yoke, for mounting onto a wall or from trussing.
The Ikon Profile is on display at ADJ's booth (Hall 5.0, Stand B88) at Prolight + Sound in Frank-furt, Germany April 5-8, 2016.
The Ikon Profile is available now from ADJ USA, and available April 2016 from ADJ Europe.
