Announced at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, AJA Video Systems has released the new v1.1 firmware for it's HELO H.264 streaming, encoding, and recording device intended to expand workflow and features for live production applications.
The HELO H.264 is a flexible streaming and recording stand-alone device. Combining SDI and HDMI I/O into a single unit, it allows users to stream out to a Content Delivery Network while simultaneously encoding and recording H.264 files to either SD, USB, or networked-based storage.
With the new v1.1 firmware update, users can now integrate a scheduler that triggers pre-planned start and stop of recording and streaming media. This can be done through the HELO's web UI, importing ICS files, or by linking to external calendar providers such as Google Calendar.
Additional features added include redundant recording of one file to two media locations simultaneously, support for up to five RTSP streams, and expanded recording file sizes for long event recordings.
HELO v1.1 firmware will be available soon as a free download.
