Released at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Blackmagic Design has unveiled its new ATEM Television Studio Pro HD. This compact, all-in-one production switcher gives users many of the professional features desired in live video production at an affordable price point.
ATEM combines a broadcast hardware control panel and 8 input switcher. It includes 4 SDI and 4 HDMI inputs, all with re-sync, so users can connect a total of up to 8 different sources such as SDI broadcast cameras, consumer HDMI cameras, computers and even video game consoles. Built-in graphics storage, DVE, transition effects, and keyers provide a suite of features commonly used in professional broadcast and live applications.
The console is compatible with all SD and HD formats up to 1080p60 and also features two channels of analog audio in, RS-422, Ethernet and a built in IEC power supply, along with program and auxiliary outputs. Balanced XLR analog inputs allow for easy audio integration directly into the ATEM. Also included are SDI and HDMI multi-view outputs to monitor all sources, preview and program, along with labels, audio meters and more, all on a single big screen television or broadcast monitor.
For speed and flexibility, the ATEM can be connected through a software control panel for Mac and PC platforms, allowing multiple users to be connected at the same time. Audio mixing, switching, graphics changes, and remote camera color balance can all be executed at the same time.
The ATEM Television Studio Pro HD will ship in May 2017 for $2,295.
