Martin Audio Adds Small-Format WPS to Wavefront Precision Line Array Series

Part of Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision Series, the new WPS is a passive (unpowered) three-way box with ten drivers – more than any other box in its class, according to the product announcement.

Designed in part with houses of worship in mind, the new WPS, part of Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision series, is a compact passive three-way loudspeaker system with a 100-degree horizontal constant-directivity coverage pattern of both the high and midrange sections. It features two eight-inch, low-frequency drivers, four four-inch midrange drivers and four one-inch exit high-frequency compression drivers loaded by a molded high-frequency horn that fills the full width of the enclosure.

“We wanted to overcome the deficiencies and compromises of other eight-inch line arrays available on the market,” says Dom Harter, Martin Audio’s managing director. “That’s why we have more drivers in WPS than anything else in its class, with spacing, waveguide and crossover point engineered to deliver, in particular, optimum high-frequency performance with exemplary mid- and high-frequency pattern control, even at higher SPL.”

Martin Audio’s Multi Cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) technology is available in the company’s Wavefront Precision Series, but with external amplification and scalable resolution. Smaller than the MLA systems, Wavefront Precision loudspeakers are designed to be flexible, upgradable and financially accessible.
