Sony’s first 4K model PTZ camera, the BRC-X1000
At InfoComm 2017, Sony put on display its expanded family of cameras, which includes its first 4K model, the BRC-X1000, and a new HD addition, the BRC-H800.
Designed for education, corporate, faith based organizations, local government and healthcare, as well as sports and live events, Sony’s PTZ camera line is used in many settings.
The key feature is a 1-0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Already used in many of Sony’s broadcast cameras, a one-inch image sensor provides a larger area for imaging, using three smaller chips. It is designed for extreme sensitivity in low light conditions, greater zoom capability, and enhanced resolution for detailed images.
Sony’s BRC and SRG camera models can be paired with accessories like Sony’s new RM-IP500 remote controller for ergonomic PTZ control of multiple remote cameras. When used with Sony’s MCX-500 multi-camera live producer, users can create a complete live event solution capable of IP streaming as well as full HD recording onto an onboard SD card memory device.
