Blizzard Lighting announces their latest LED moving head beam fixture: the Blade RGBW. The company says it offers smooth RGBW color mixing and “previously unseen 1.1-degree beam angle.”
“We've been working on a small, affordable…moving-head for quite a while,” says James Keeley, who led development of the fixture for Blizzard. “We looked at other fixtures in the market and thought ‘we can do better!' We tried to build a better fixture with a better beam and a better price. ‘The Blade' RGBW meets all of the above and surpasses them all. It's small, very affordable, and has the narrowest beam angle anyone has ever seen in a LED moving head fixture,” he says.
The Blade RGBW features 36 intensely bright five-watt CREE LEDs (eight red, 10 green, 10 blue, and eight white) with full RGBW luminous intensity of 41,000 Lux at two meters, according to the company. The included eight-degree diffuser lens will transform it into a wash coverage fixture with RGBW color mixing. The company says, it's like buying two fixtures for the price of one.
In terms of speed, the Blade RGBW boasts a 540-degree pan that clocks at just 1.8 seconds, and its 240-degree tilt times at just less than 1.8 seconds, all thanks to the use of its two-phase, high-quality stepper motors. It also features 16-bit dimming and a full color, easy to navigate icon based LCD display.
Blizzard Lighting says the total power consumption on this powerhouse of a fixture is a 148 watts at full RGBW draw. It measures 13.4 x 9.5 x 14.8 inches, and weighs 11.5 lbs.
Retail price for the Blade RGBW is $899.99, and is available for immediate shipping.
