Offering a solution to enhance the flexibility of its MicroCom XR wireless intercom system, Pliant Technologies announces the new 4-Wire I/O Interface and Two-Way Radio Headset Adapter (PAC-MC4W-IO). Designed with MicroCom XR wireless intercom customers’ workflows in mind, this solution adds additional users by connecting a MicroCom XR system to a variety of wired and wireless intercom systems that use an industry-standard 4-wire connection. In addition, it also offers a direct intercom interface from the MicroCom XR to many two-way radio devices.
“We have been receiving very positive feedback from our MicroCom XR wireless intercom customers since its launch last year,” says Gary Rosen, Vice President of global sales for Pliant Technologies. “An outstanding feature for MicroCom XR users has been the system’s ease-of-use and flexibility. With the new 4-wire I/O and two-way radio interface capability, we have enhanced the system’s flexibility with a user-friendly solution that allows anyone to interface to a 4-wire intercom system, or to simply interface with a line-level analog audio connection with MicroCom XR.”
Pliant’s new headset adapter is designed to be a low-cost solution that seamlessly expands any MicroCom XR wireless system. Combining MicroCom XR and the new 4-wire adapter, users can now be added to existing intercom systems using 4-wire connections. By using one of the optional radio adapter cables, users will have the ability to connect MicroCom XR to a two-way radio system, allowing them to talk and listen through many two-way radio models. With this new interfacing capability, the MicroCom XR is designed to key the connected two-way radio directly from any belt pack on the system or via the adapter’s push-to-talk button while using any standard MicroCom-compatible headset for fully integrated audio communication.
The interface device features a rechargeable battery designed to have a 35-hour life, plugging into a USB-C power source. An LED indicator light on the device will light red while charging and turns off when the battery is fully charged. Additionally, the LED indicator is blue when the system is powered on and ready for use. It also features a built–in belt clip for flexible attachment options, so users can secure the adapter to clothing.
