The flagship product in Sound Devices’ Astral wireless audio family is the A20-Nexus, a multichannel ultra-high performance true-diversity wireless microphone receiver that packs powerful features into just a half-rack unit. It comes with 8 independent channels and can be expanded to 12 or 16 channels via software expansion plug-in, either through a permanent purchase, so you can keep up with the needs of a growing congregation, or rental, to temporarily increase your channel count when a pageant or production comes up and you need to add extra inputs. No additional hardware is necessary for the channel upgrade.
The A20-Nexus receiver boasts Sound Devices’ SpectraBand technology, which achieves an industry-first global tuning range of 169-1525 MHz. When your church has other digital systems that can interfere, SpectraBand offers exceptional RF filtering capabilities that cut through that noise to utilize legal RF frequencies wherever you’re located.
Sound Devices’ proprietary NexLink protocol gives the A20-Nexus receiver full remote control of transmitters via an integrated, long-distance RF link. The A20-Nexus receiver also features an integrated RTSA (Real Time Spectrum Analyzer), giving you spectrum visibility while decoding audio.
It can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack or you can place it remotely near your microphone transmitters due to its Power-over-Ethernet+ (PoE+) capability, its Dante audio-over-IP network ability, and its built-in web server that lets you control it via phone, tablet, or computer.
Additionally, the A20-Nexus receiver can be docked to your Sound Devices 833, 888, or Scorpio mixer-recorders using an A20-QuickDock accessory, which provides convenient power, audio, and timecode connections with no additional cables. This accessory allows the A20-Nexus to connect and disconnect from the 833, 888, or Scorpio in seconds with no tools, and be remote mounted anywhere when desired.
