On-demand audio visual services provider AV Hero is bringing their gig-economy platform to the house of worship market. Described as the “Uber of AV,” AV Hero is designed to connect organizations and individuals to certified technicians that can provide audio-visual troubleshooting, setup and support.
“At the start of the pandemic, many houses of worship had to find ways to continue their services remotely, increasing the need for audio-visual equipment and software,” says John Day, founder of AV Hero. “With their increased audio-visual needs, houses of worship all over the country are looking for local experts to help with sound, video, lighting and other audio-visual needs. AV Hero can be an immediate connector to the experts they are looking for.”
Experienced audio-visual technicians (Heroes) can sign up via the avhero.com website. The company reports all of the audio-visual technicians on the AV Hero platform have completed a technical assessment and passed a background check. As of February 2022, over 1,200 audio visual technicians have been activated and available for hire within www.avhero.com. Once approved, Heroes are able to accept local requests that they have been pre-qualified for. Those looking to hire audio-visual technicians can create a free account via the website and submit a job request to local AV Heroes. AV Hero charges a flat hourly rate of $75 per hour, with Heroes receiving a set rate of $50 per hour.
“Our vision is to become the obvious choice for all audio-visual support requests. The “Kleenex” brand of the audio-visual industry if you will,” says Day. AV Hero has also
received requests to expand internationally but is currently focusing on brand awareness and service delivery throughout the United States.
