The Optical Devices Division of Fujifilm North America has released the new Fujinon Cabrio XK cine lens at the 2016 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed for the video production and PL cine markets, the Cabrio features a T stop of T3.5 end-to-end, a 20-120mm focal range, and flexibility at an affordable price point.
In an effort to provide maximum flexibility, the Cabrio XK is suitable for both consumer video and professional cinema applications. With a detachable servo motor, the lens can easily accept industry-standard cine motors and matte boxes. It also covers the Super 35 format sensor format on digital cinema-style cameras, furthering its high-end flexibility to be used in a wide variety of shooting environments and equipment.
Additional features include a nine-blade iris, wireless and wired control from existing Fujinon and other industry-standard units, and luminous markings on the zoom barrel for visibility in dark shooting situations. The Carbio will also output standard LDS and /i Tech metadata giving users the ability to record the position information of zoom, iris, and focus for computer animation and similar postproduction operations.
