Released at the 2016 InfoComm Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mega-Lite has unveiled its new Lumen8 Surface lighting console. Featuring a built-in quad core processor, the company says this compact control surface provides both impressive processing power and intuitive use through an easy-to-use visual interface.
Users of the Lumen8 surface will find plenty of control and playback features suitable for a wide variety of lighting applications. The console includes 8 playback faders, 8 quick assign faders, and 8 Go buttons for programming and live use. Other controls include 16 quick response bump buttons and 11 trait encoders, usable during programming or on-the-fly alterations in live settings. Other standard controls include 32 function buttons, a grandmaster fader, global fade time slider, blackout, tempo, and track ball mouse for navigation.
I/O options include two built-in universes and eight additional Art-Net outputs. For complex show situations, a rear expansion port allows for up to 10 additional Lumen surfaces to be cascaded together. It has also been designed to work seamlessly with the Microsoft Surface tablet platform and downloadable app, providing wireless control and monitoring. External monitor and Surface Tablet for use must be purchased separately.
