With church leaders around the country considering a return to live worship services, church leaders are looking for ways to reassure congregations they will be safe. While medical experts encourage everyone to keep distance, to be alert to specific symptoms of sickness, and to be wary as not all signs are immediately visible, how can church attendees maintain a safe level of interaction?
Riedel has developed some control instruments designed to help everyone return to regular life with some confidence. DisTag is a lightweight wearable device that helps control the distance between people. It is a tool for teams that need to work in close proximity or move around a lot, say in a church production environment, work environment or even in a gym where visitors might not be aware of how close they are to a training partner.
This technical device warns its wearer through haptic, visual, and acoustic signals whenever the mandatory minimum distance to other people is not maintained. A user may carry the 3.66” x 1.61” proximity detector on a strap around their neck or inside their pocket. Before the minimum safety distance to others is reached, the DisTag alerts its wearer through vibration and/or acoustic and visual warning signals. The proximity limits of the warning levels can be individually defined and adjusted, following current regulations.
Riedel has also teamed together with Germany-based EvoCount to detect potentially infected people through temperature screening. EvoCount is a specialist for visitor flow analysis and crowd management that provides automated, contactless systems to detect elevated body temperature in public and quasi-public places. “This is a flexible system which is easily set up and will contribute significantly to your real-time risk management, without the need for collecting personal images or data,” according to the announcement.
