Sennheiser has released its new XS Series of wireless microphones at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Comprised of the XSW1 and XSW2 systems, Sennheiser says the affordable price point and easy-to-use features make this series a smooth transition into wireless use.
In designing the XS Series, the company sought to provide the same affordability but in two options, depending on user demands. The XSW1 offers the most intuitive plug and play solution featuring up to ten compatible, preset channels in eight frequency banks across the UHF spectrum with the receiver displaying frequency bank channel and basic adjustment buttons. The XSW2 offers 12 compatible and tunable channels in its eight frequency banks along with an LCD display which shows transmission frequency, AF and RF levels, and battery status.
Both XS Series come in six available configurations including a two handheld options, headset, lavalier, instrument cable, and clip-on gooseneck mic. Handheld options for the XSW1 include the e825 or e835 cardioid capsules while the XSW2 features the e835 cardioid or e865 supercardioid, condenser capsule. Both receivers utilize antenna switching diversity for reliable reception with the rear panel outputs featuring balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch connections.
The XSW1 is available immediately with the XSW2 shipping in April 2017.
